Where is Menorca?
Menorca is most northern of the Spanish Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. It’s nearest neighbour and sister island is Mallorca.
Menorca’s nearest neighbour is Mallorca, but Menorca is smaller, much quieter and less commercialised.
The Moors, Catalans, British, French and Spanish have all been here, so the influences have been diverse and the architecture is a mixture of style.
You don’t have to go far outside of the capital town of Mahon to be in the heart of Menorca’s beautiful natures reserves. S’Albufera es Grau Nature Park, just north of the town, is home to a most valuable eco-system and has been declared the core area of Menorca’s Biosphere Reserve.
